An opportunity to have fun, make new friends and learn new Guiding Skills

Waddow is one of the Girlguiding residential training and activity centres, located approximately 1.5 miles from the village of Clitheroe, Lancashire, close to major road and rail links.

Accommodation will be in Waddow Hall, a 17th-century manor house overlooking the River Ribble and set in 178 acres of enchanting Lancashire countryside.

The Hall can accommodate up to 60 guests in 29 en-suite single, twin and shared rooms. All bedrooms are equipped with tea-making facilities. Guests are welcome to explore the estate and enjoy the spectacular views across the Ribble Valley. The Main Hall is suitable for wheelchair users and there are two ground-floor bedrooms and a first-floor bedroom suitable for guests with disabilities.

There is a licensed bar as well as a shop selling Girlguiding trading items, souvenirs and memorabilia. All food is included, meals are freshly prepared and any special dietary requirements will happily be catered for. There is ample parking space adjacent to the main house.

Training sessions, led by national trainers, will be provided for adult leaders working with Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section. There will also be the opportunity to participate in activities or simply to chill out with some free time to explore the grounds or the local area, whichever is your choice.

We have found on previous County weekends that coach transport was not viable, however we are keen to support any leader who would like to attend the weekend.  If you are able to offer a place in your car to another leader who has difficulty with transport, please indicate on the form.

The weekend starts on Friday evening (arrival time is flexible) and finishes after lunch on Sunday.

Cost:  £100.00 for a place in a shared room.  £110.00 for a single room, (subject to availability).

Training is a legitimate unit expense.

A contribution of £30.00 may be paid from Units Funds towards the weekend.

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so please send your booking form in as soon as possible. A £30 deposit is required with your booking. Please note that in the event of cancellation, the deposit will only be refunded if we are able to fill your place.

Closing date for bookings:    28th January 2018

Final payment due:              Thursday 8th February 2018

If preferable the balance of £70.00 can be made in two payments of £35.00.
