am – 10.00 – 12.30; pm – 13.30 – 16.00

Please specify if you are new to Guiding Outdoors or more experienced as if there is enough interest we will split the sessions.

Outdoor cooking – Sat 24th Sep

Safe Set up of a gas stove

Storing equipment and food

Laying and lighting a campfire

Safety an R/A

Camping Skills –  tents and residentials – Sat 24th Sep

Tents and Pitching

Tent care and repair

Setting up a Campsite

Health and Safety – R/A

How the girls can help during residentials – training/Supervision.

Essential Forms

Problem solving – tent repairs, broken equipment, first aid, emergencies.

Outdoor building and games – Sunday 25th Sep

Bushcraft incl. Shelter building

Pioneering

Camping Gadgets

Wide Games/Outdoor Games

Walking, Navigation and all things maps – Sunday 25th Sep

Orienteering

Map Reading – Symbols/Grid references etc

Using a compass

Pacing
